anyway we did our little exhibition for our philosophy class today.

judges: ilyas(philo lecturer) chase (US lecturer) dr sharon (ADP head or somewhat) or i just realized-should have asked shankar (our cute and cuddly gen psy lecturer)
so everyone turned up and the results were very creative and im glad that ilyas didn't have to dig a hole and stuff his face there. =)
we had the modern group-vincent, shing chye, andre, zhi hawn
they did theirs in the modern world instead of a cave and of shadows we had tvs and houses Xp
oh lets move back a bit and retell the story ive been telling the lecturers over and over again as they asked bout our cave x.x
so there's the cave. underground.
prisoners. inside. looking at shadows their whooooooole life.
shadows come from fire shining on ppl/ animals carrying stuff behind them.
prisoners don't know there are ppl/ animals behind them as they cant move their heads.
prisoners think shadows are the real stuff as they have seen it their whooooole life.
one day one prisoner is dragged to the outside and sees the beautiful world.
comes back to tell other prisoners what he sees but they don't believe him.
and this is life.
prisoners living in dark-us!!
ppl carriers/animals-government/ppl in charge
freed prisoner-"enlightened" ones/philosophers
so the whole point of the story is that sometimes things are not as we see it on the surface which we think is the real thing (shadows). in other words, we live in ignorance =)
the carriers show us the things that we see and we think it is "truth" (government)
when people see the things under the surface and try to teach us we tend to think that they are the ones that is insane or stupid (freed prisoner).
that, my friends, is life.

anyway, vincent's group had the houses and the tv's
phui loo's group had the real thing out of plasticine and newspaper.
we had the pop-up book version of the republic Xp
and noah's had it in a box =)
all in all, i think we did quite well.*pats myself on the back
chase kept asking weird, hard philosophical questions -.-
"if i kill you and say this is the truth, what would you do??"
in which i cleverly retaliated something bout adolph hitler and his nazi's killing the jews =)
